A little while back, I hinted in a comment that I may have some interesting pony-related news. Well, the time has come (and gone) to reveal it: I am officially the head scriptwriter* for the fan-made Flash game, My Little Pony: the Fiends from Dream Valley.
For those of you who don't know, MLP:tFfDV (what a mouthful) is one of the largest fangame projects in production, and almost certainly the most ambitious. You can check out all of the videos of the project at the official YouTube channel. They'll give you a good idea of what the game will look like and how it'll play when it's done. The most recent video features my melodious voice, in case you didn't get enough of it from my radio appearance.
I have to say, I'm incredibly honored to be part of this project. I'm an aspiring writer, mostly in comics, but I'm interested in all media, so this project is a great opportunity to try out my writing skills in a medium I've never attempted before. Of course, the fact that I get to try and write some of my favorite characters is awesome, too! Hopefully I can live up to the expectations of fans everywhere who are hoping for a game that lives up to the wit and whimsy of Friendship is Magic.
Oh, and I almost forgot! I also appeared with several of the team members, including our illustrious leader Timesoda, on episode 10 of The Brony Show, a podcast for, well, bronies. So you can hear even more of me blabbering on unintelligibly about pony-related stuff!
*To clarify: I'm the scriptwriter for the game. That means I'm writing the scenes and dialogue of the characters. However, I did not come up with the actual story of the game; a brony by the name of Rowan Divey did that, and a fantastic story it is. My job is to take his massive, 30+ page outline for the game and turn it into actual scripts for the actors to read. I can't reveal too much of the story just yet, but let's just say that those of you who're long-time MLP fans will find a lot to enjoy in this game.
